Liana Stewart is an award-winning Welsh director specialising in observational and character-led documentaries for TV, Branded Content and Streaming Platforms.

Liana has directed a multitude of documentaries, including Sprint: Part 2 (Netflix), Ambulance (BBC One); Grierson-nominated short film, My First Time, part of the Take Your Knee Off My Neck series (Channel 4) and Sex Actually with Alice Levine (Channel 4). Her 30 minute documentary, Black and Welsh (BBC Wales) was nominated for three BAFTA Cymru awards, winning best Director: Factual.

 

Liana's first global feature film for Netflix will broadcast in summer, 2026.

Liana is part of the Bafta Elevate Cohort 2025-2026.
